DTU has extensive R&D collaboration with private companies and the relation to the private sector has expanded rapidly throughout the last ten years. A new report conducted by DAMVAD documents a large statistically significant impact on companies' productivity from R&D collaboration with DTU with an average yearly productivity gain corresponding to DKK 31.000 per employee. As a part of the Green Growth Leaders conference Take Lead, DAMVAD has prepared the first study being able to quantify the volume and competitiveness of green business activities in Copenhagen. The study reveals that the Green Sector is a high-productive sector with impressive growth rates in exports over the last 5 years. This mapping shows that Green and Growth indeed walks hand in hand. Vocational schools need to cooperate more closely with institutions of higher education about creating access to higher education for people educated within the building trade. A new report from DAMVAD and Building Education (Byggeriets Uddannelser) financed by the Danish Ministry of Education sheds light on barriers between vocational education and higher education. Education and work place training are important drivers for competitive production. This study documents a positive relation between education of the employees and highly productive firms. Only unskilled workers show a negative relation. Furthermore, certified AMU (short vocational courses) are more used in highly productive firms. The study defines social entrepreneurship as well as maps and identifies the various types of social entrepreneurs in Norway. Since the 1980s the Norwegian government has funded research into social science aspects of the petroleum sector. The latest programme, PETROSAM, sponsors research into petroleum developments in the Gulf States, the Caspian Sea and Russia. Young people like to be involved more directly when visiting a museum. Unfortunately many museums don't accomodate this. This is one of the central messages in a new report published by Danish Agency for Culture and based on a study conducted by DAMVAD and Center for Museology. The Norwegian cluster programs, NCE and Arena, have recently been subjected to thorough evaluations. The article develops a conceptual model for cluster-based innovation and growth which illustrates how cluster programs influence interaction in business environments. On behalf of Innovation Norway, DAMVAD has analysed the level of market-orientation among businesses in Norway, Denmark, and Sweden. Market-oriented companies have a higher growth in turnover, a higher share of turnover coming from export, and a higher share of turnover coming from innovation. DAMVAD has just completed an analysis of the effects of all development projects initiated by the Growthforum in North Denmark Region since 2007. In total, the region has initiated projects for nearly 3 billion DKK, and the analysis estimates both the effects on job creation and the effects on productivity for all projects. It is shown that while Kolding is considered an attractive city, there is room for improving the general knowledge level about the city and its attractions. The "Efterskole" is a unique Danish residential school, where students from the ages of 14 to 18 can choose to spend one, two or three years to finish their primary education. Previous studies have shown that a stay at an "efterskole" increases the chance of completing a secondary education. To further explore this Efterskoleforeningen (the association of "efterskoler") has commissioned DAMVAD to carry out a study of the effect a stay at an "efterskole" has on social mobility. A DAMVAD analysis highlights the question whether Green equals Growth? The study shows that green Danish companies in Copenhagen experience very high growth rates in terms of productivity, exports and employment. In fact Green does equal Growth in Copenhagen. The Sports Confederation of Denmark (DIF) has chosen DAMVAD to evaluate a project about reducing administrative rules and regulations in six selected municipalities. The aim of the project is to set up learning points for all municipalities about how to organize their sports policy in the most flexible and attractive way. Technical University of Denmark (DTU) has asked DAMVAD to conduct a study of the labour market for its graduates. The study will build on a survey among graduates from the university's master programmes in the years 2008 - 2011, as well as qualitative interviews with 50 companies that employ graduates from DTU. The study will give DTU an up-to-date assessment of the quality and relevance of its study programmes and will be used for adjustment and development of master programmes as well as documentation in the upcoming accreditation procedures.
